A sketch of my half-elven necromancer Celbhin Thornheart as he was in life and as he is currently. Er, he wasn’t a necromancer in life. He might’ve been a jeweller.
These were sketched with CSP’s symmetry tool, which I really enjoy for concept work such as this. It helps me to just focus on the features and not whether or not a face is slanting to the side or something equally silly.
I sketched the face on the left first as I had a pretty good idea of how he looked, especially given that he’s a port of my sylvari from GW2 of the same name. I then lowered the opacity low enough so that I could just make out the features and shaded and drew the forsaken version overtop.
A portrait of Rashkah 's tiefling Barden where I went from a B&W portrait to colour.
It never really made too much sense to me before but I saw this wonderful video and it seemed to click. So I gave it a shot and I’m very happy with the result.
I’m looking forward to improving on it in the future
I don’t even know what to say because I surprised myself with this piece. I’m truly very, very proud of it.
I also did this entire piece in CSP and I had a lot of fun. I’ve figured out which brush I prefer for painting so this all went a lot smoother than the last few times I had attempted it. I used the same techniques I learned from that painted portrait from earlier this week and improved on them.
Story-wise: Basilius lived with his husband in the night elf capitol of Darnassus, which was in the world tree Teldrassil. With the latest events in WoW, that tree and the city within it has been razed. Basil is…pretty angry over it all. He’s angry at a lot of different people: the Horde, the Night Elf “leaders”, and very distressed over losing his beloved garden. Thankfully, he didn’t lose any family.
A little Ewok Jedi! More painting experimenting. This was a bit ambitious but it was loads of fun!
I also love this girl and will likely do some other things with her in the future.
Just a quick doodle from earlier today of my favourite character from Matt Groening’s Disenchantment in my own style.
Boy oh boy!!! Araneolus and their good manasaber Loyanne. This was so fun and relaxing to paint. I really love how it turned out.
Celbhin Thornheart, my half-elf necromancer, rising out of the waters to start some mayhem.
Quick portrait of my void elf because I found I did, in fact, have a pencil brush in Clip Studio that worked at larger sizes so I wanted to test it properly.
Also coloured in Clip Studio to replicate what I do in SAI and I think I can slowly shift to working just in this program because it has so many other things that I use and going back and forth was a little cumbersome at times.
