Beth glances at Gishten. "Brother," she says by way of greeting. Faolan snuffles at his coat then yelps again, trotting back to Beth, who scratches his ears. She smiles. "It's true though."

"I'm sure you have tales to share?" he asks rubbing his arms as he gets closer towards the fire. "I'm sure all of you have stories to make this evening a little more interesting?" he asks the group, looking at each each one with some interest and some wonder in his voice.

The ranger chuckled, a soothing, yet rough, sound. "I have quite a few from my five years of wandering and fighting. Many of them about the scars I've accumulated over the years."

Gishten looks mournfully at the fellow Sylvari "Hope the tales are not all of lose and sadness? A peacefully night such as this calls for...something..." he pauses, looks up to the sky, trying to think of a word to describe the current atmosphere.

"Hardly. More due to luck that I managed to survive, but it is how it is." Her wolf flumps down with a sigh, placing his head on his paws, looking up at Gishten.

"Luck. That seems like a fitting theme for this evening. As good as any." he pauses "As for survival?" he looks up and down quickly to check himself for scars of his own.

"Yelling and loud talk of Dragons, meeting it face to face! Hoping to best the icy beast?!? We probably do not share the same kind." He would add, if indeed their voices have cared so far.

Gishten looks down at the wolf in kind, giving a small bow. "I bet he has seen more of your kind of survival than I."

She smiles, tucking a leaf behind her ear. "He's been with me for quite some time, so yes, he has." Beth ruffles his ears, chuckling as Faolan gives a doggy grin.

The old Norn gave let out a loud laugh, "HAH! Why settle for tales.. when there's plenty of drink to go around for a game!" He lets out a heavy belch before raising his mug high, "Let's play.. ack, what was it called.. ugh, a few friends of mine played it all the time around the hearth. You tell us two brief tales about yourself.. one of them is true, the other is a lie, and those that listen have to guess which is true.. if they are wrong, they drink.. if they call your truth, you drink!"

Khorthall meanwhile gave a low chuckle, "Heh.. I remember this game.." Until the other Norn pointed a finger to himself, "Me first! Me first," As he raised high large tankard up in the air, "I once wrestled a drake brood-mother.. naked!" He let out a laugh, "I also climbed the Durmand Priory mountain naked as well! So? Which is truth!?" He waited for any who would listen or even overhear from afar that may of shown interest to this game.

"I've seen that Priory mountain myself, and that is high, even for a norn to handle, at least in my eyes, so I say the second." Beth's eyes glinted merrily. Faolan yelped as if to agree with his alpha.

Blood and Iron.

In the Durmand Priory that was often what the two charr were called. But those within the ranks of the Magisters and Explorers that brought information, historical clues, artifacts and tales of discovered ruins, the two were known as Archivist Grishnack Soulclaw and Battle Historian Tamara Heartrend. The two surviving members of the once great Heart and Soul Warband that struck many blows against the Flame Legion.

They had aged rather gracefully; Grishnack still had that tawny fur and mane that was neatly tied back. He'd gained some weight, mind you, and any who was an expert armoursmith would have seen wear his armour had been adjusted to allow for the old guardian's increased girth. On his hip was his faithful mace, what looked like a block of ice held by tongs. Strapped to his back was his shield.

Tamara had seen her days, but she weathered them with a noble stance. Her recent blindness didn't seem to slow her down, and even Grishnack found some entertainment in the 'voices' that Tamara seeme to hear. She'd often remark on whether Glint or Jalis would agree with what someone else had stated, or commented that Kalla found that an ally's bravery equal to the Scorch Warband. She walked along, staff in one hand and her other on Grishnack's shoulder.

While these two were known throughout the Durmand Priory by their official titles, it was the unofficial ones that the sylvari had given them. Once, many years ago, some of their grandcubs came to visit the Priory. When the sylvari heard them calling Grishnack and Tamara 'grandpa' and 'grandma' the names stuck.

"Climbing the Priory mountain naked," Tamara said with a huff. "I've never been so glad as to be blind as I am now. That would have been a frightful sight to see."
