What's your favourite new Elite Specialization?

Pretty much what the title says. Why is x your favourite and why? What is your least favourite?

My favourite is Spellbreaker.

I love how different it feels from Warrior in general. The effects and the extra voice lines. The daggers and their animations feel smooth and are a welcome addition. I also enjoy how good this Spec. can be at dealing damage. It's just really fun.

My least favourite is probably the Mirage. I've been trying to get a hold of it since the first BETA but it's been a headache. It feels unnecessary and confusing. I found online that its initial idea was going to be related to pistols and glass effects.

Deadeye, mostly because I finally can stand in a distance with my squeeshy thief and not get roflstomped by the mobs (especially with all the stealthy spells it can has now). Weaver arrives in a strong second, mostly because I just like the element mixing (fire and ice are always so good together, and the Weaver's gauntlets and ascended sword are simply just pretty).

Least favorite? Mirage and Scourge. Mirage because... I don't really see what they bring to the class that is actually new, and Scourge because it's the complete opposite: it doesn't look like a necro anymore. More like a sand manipulator or something.

Firebrand and Holosmith are my favourites. I love the concept of a lorekeeper who uses the magic of lorebooks in battle, and the animations look really good from what Ive seen.

The Holosmith looks really great too, and I love how creative they got with the specialisation, it just looks completely badass and Im thinking about playing one. I wouldnt have been drawn to the Engineer profession otherwise.

Mirage comes in third for me personally, I didnt see what the difference was at first but after watching it seemed like a complex but interesting specialisation.

My least favourite is probably Deadeye, for me personally it just doesnt seem that interesting a concept.

I haven't actually gotten around to picking and acquiring one yet. But I'm really impressed by what I'm seeing of Scourge from the condi build my friend Special K is using. I'm seeing him burn down Veteran rank Awakened in 3-4 seconds flat. Which is saying a lot. SpeK is a very conservative "good enough is good enough" sort of player. He doesn't even use equipment above exotic most of the time. Which means he's not even taking an already impressive build to the red line.

That said...

You might not want to sit this one out based on theme and aesthetics. :o

I play a lot of wvw, so scourge. Totally not broken, no nerfs needed, absolutely balanced, nothing to see here. :thumb: (In truth I would continue to play it even if it weren't overtuned, I always liked necromancer thematically but hated the shroud mechanic.)

I thought I'd enjoy spellbreaker but it's a dome-bot in wvw and doesn't beat condi berserker for me in pve.

I will have to say Deadeye. I didn't enjoy thief until playing it, mostly because there were a lot of mechanics that didn't agree with my playstyle. It has a very friendly rotation, as well. Just being able to think about where I'm putting my character is a really nice change.

Least would have to be Scourge. I main power Reaper, and always will be a power Reaper at heart. I tried it and I just... I can't. I'm sorry guys.

My favourite thus far is Firebrand. I like the versatility to it. Second comes Renegade. Weaver is about third, mostly because I am a horrible elementalist.

Least favourite is Deadeye. Which is saying a lot because I love thief. Deadeye makes all of the game play I am used to with thief... and forces me not to use it. Which is frustrating to me. Daredevil played nicely into the style of play I enjoy with thief, whereas Deadeye... doesn't play at all with thief. I can see where some people might enjoy it, but I don't. It's incredibly disappointing, which is rather much how I expected it to be when the spec was announced.

Deadeye fangirl. My purpose since PoF has been losing friends over my Deadeye hype, and the reality lived up to it for me. While the mobility isn't ideal (though using a shortbow is fun), I've been impressed with the critical damage. Plus, it 100% suits how I always wanted my character to be for combat IC. It even motivated me to get my main fully geared in ascended.

I'm warming up to Soulbeast. I'm just trying to mostly understand it.

I've loved playing Scourge and Spellbreaker. Though I've primarily played them in PvE only and not WvW, nor am I probably playing them properly, but they're still a ton of fun.

Scourge gives off a bit of a mesmery feel with the sand shades, but not in a bad way. I honestly love them, even if it does mean giving up death/reaper shroud (though having two necros helps me play both specs without having to swap builds). I've always wanted torch for an elite spec so I'm happy to see it be used.

Spellbreaker is just a cool concept to me. It did suck that I had to buy a second dagger, but the weapons are just a ton of fun to use. I never really played warrior much before PoF as I always found them bland and boring to play. Spellbreaker makes them more interesting, and more fun too.

My least favorite is Deadeye. I hate rifle and never wanted one on thief. Fight me.
