I'm just going to add about wvw... the whole death thing. Please get over being killed. There will be these times while playing when you just die and die and die and die and really it's alright because you learn. You learn to keep an escape point at your back, how far is far enough when you see an approaching havoc squad, to double dodge roll through chokes and so on. Despite all that, you're still gonna die - there's always an objective worth sacrificing for, someone better than you or a group of more people. I die all the time getting enemy dolyaks, siege or contesting things and I am not an exceptional pvp player - all it takes is being there :)

Oh and Kin Bear is my commander of choice, he's incredibly patient with the behavior of my guildies :d

The term "Fair Weather", albeit true, is not conducive to a unified server.

There are several commanders willing to lead the militia in WvW, including several members of The Tarnished Coastguard and FLUX Capacity. Nevertheless, even these commanders willing to lead and instruct the more casual WvWers can get frustrated when their followers scatter and flee and otherwise not listen to their commands.

Folks new or inexperienced with WvW should seek out Manatakuta (TTC), Kendrick Duskomen (TTC), Ryvalia (FLUX), Stillgar (FLUX) and other well-known and militia-friendly commanders.

As for achievements, be prepared against JQ and BG next week as the majority of their players are exceptionally skilled and may make achievement hunting considerably more difficult.

psh we all know Yishis plays engineer now lol ;D

And since I'm still in the mood to talk (lol) I'll also rant about roaming.
In terms of small scale fighting, BG is far superior to both JQ and SoR. Most of the core WvW players from the latter servers are specced for group play, not for solo/small group play, while there are guilds on BG that specialise on just that (for example RIOT and oPP). If you do decide to roam during these matchups, please don't get frustrated if you do lose. Roaming is by far the most nerve-wracking part of WvW (with the exception of keep defending against a megazerg). Being ganked by thieves and mesmers are common. Dying is common. And most of all, nobody cares about the death counter. If you died 2000 times, that's fine, if you died 800 times, that's fine. As long as you are helping out the war effort, it's all good. The faster you accept that, the faster you will feel more comfortable in WvW.

And for people who are new to the game mode and more than willing to learn, please let me know! While I will not be on in-game, I'm more than happy to talk to you in PMs and whatnot. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, I can just bully Trax into leading a training session or something :d

Yeah I dual rep Kin's guild but he has not been popping his tag much. Most of what we do is small group/havoc but his willingness to invite militia to his party is just amazing and he is so damned patient - we welcome anyone to join in.

I love roaming though. Yes it is a fatal love that I have for creeping around on T1 server territory but nothing beats that feeling of being hunted when you have royally messed with their stuff and they send out five people to keep their roads safe. If you have a highwayman fantasy for a character... it's perfect. Stand and deliver.

Actually during T1 matches I like to think that we have a game called 'Who is the best Master Baiter' (hehe Master Baiter :>). Because zergs will chase you if you try to annoy them lololol

An epic moment is upon us for Tarnished Coast wvw. If you have checked the score recently, perhaps you have noticed that we are in second place in a match against two of the top three servers. We are currently 10k ahead of SoR. By the points system of the leagues, if we can hold second place and then come in first place next week (short of disaster we will), Tarnished Coast will capture 3rd place over all, pushing Sanctum of Rall to fourth place.

Why should you care? Because we will get a better reward for third and by the six! We will have beaten one of the dominating servers of the last six months, shown them that a militia and small guild driven server can do as well as a huge guild driven juggernaut, hold their ground while still having a damned good time.

However, that 10k difference is still small enough for Sanctum of Rall to overturn, so this is a call out to the heroes of Tyria. I know that the new fractals content is very tempting, but spare a thought for glory, and of a battle which we will talk about for some time! A rare moment and it has been wildly fun out there for the last few days as we have rediscovered our fighting spirit and native cunning.

Here are some things you can do:

  1. Join a Zerg - not just in EB - we now have map hopping commanders so they could be on any borderland. Just log into any BL and look for a blue dorito, go to the blue dorito and help. Make sure you bring some supplies with you for the invariable siege building.
  2. Kill enemy dolyaks - they are worth points - port in to any map, seek dolyaks that are not RED and kill them, Just one or two can help if enough people do it.
  3. Cap Bloodlust. Anywhere, any borderland. That little advantage helps your fellow TC-er and also will tie up our enemies recapping as they seem to have to do this in groups of 5 even though 2 stealthy people can easily get a bloodlust cap by going back and forth. Bloodlust enables a +1 PPT per spiked kill of the enemy, too.
  4. Get sentries and cap - also worth points
  5. Form a group with friends and get friends to flip camps. Dangerous work at times but time your forays to when the clock says at least 6 minutes, so that we get the point count, go do something else for a bit, take more camps when the timer is low.
  6. Superior siege - don't want to fight but would like to support TC wvw? I have several commanders that I send superior siege to - you can make it in the mystic forge or buy it on the trading post. Superior Arrow carts, Omega golems, Superior Rams and Catapults are always welcome. If you can help this way, give me a mail or a pm in game and I can direct you to a commander currently in the field who can use it. Superior siege helps us knock over things faster!

I was thinking of just posting something similar (Alot shorter though), Kalidri. Well said and I know I'll be WvWing alot this week to secure our spot.

If anyone has any specific WvW questions feel free to send me a tell if you see me running around.

Edit; Also remember; right now the main goal is to keep scoring more points than SoR. So, taking one of their objectives is worth two of JQ's.
